“I was raised in Detroit, Michigan with a family that cherished music, offering extensive exposure to a variety of styles from classical to show tunes and ethnic to contemporary blues, rock, & folk songs of the day. With a strong background of family & chorale harmonizing, I broke into the music business performing while working my way through college. A solo act initially, I made a start singing contemporary songs at weddings, backing myself up with guitar. During those years, I also started writing lyrics and music.
